I purchased this travelling bag for an global trip - I size it to fit inside carryon limits and worked well perfectly and fit very easily inside the 747 over head bin. On the small local planes, I'd to gate check it because mini-carryon bins in the planes were being not big enough for many luggage.
It's relatively light-weight for the rolling bag, and it has enough room. The development zipper adds a couple of inches width for the depth, offering purchasing place (but leaving it as well thicker for that carryon limitations).
I wheeled it all around a great deal on city streets and on / off trains as well as the wheels worked well, even when I piggybacked my partner's carryon travelling bag on top of this just one. The carrying handle a lock at two different height, that is convenient. It has a plastic material bumper near to the wheels to make it easier to drag it to curbs with out damaging the bag.
